Marketing Director

£90,000 - £130,000
Glasgow

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a private equity-backed energy infrastructure company at a pivotal moment in its growth. With a bold vision to reshape how cities consume and manage energy, the business is delivering a major, city-wide infrastructure project set to transform the energy landscape for decades to come.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Marketing Director to play a central role in a high-impact, commercially driven environment—working at the intersection of infrastructure, sustainability, and large-scale deal-making.

The Role

As Marketing Director, you will work closely with the C-suite and commercial leadership to design and execute highly targeted, account-based marketing (ABM) strategies aimed at public sector organisations and large-scale energy users.

This is not a traditional brand marketing role. You will be directly embedded in the sales lifecycle, creating and deploying tailored marketing initiatives that support complex, high-value energy deals from early engagement through to close.

You will ensure that the right message, content, and materials are delivered at precisely the right stage—enabling the commercial team to build trust, demonstrate value, and secure long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a sophisticated ABM strategy targeting key accounts across public bodies and major energy consumers

  • Partner closely with the C-suite and sales leadership to align marketing activity with commercial objectives

  • Create highly tailored content, messaging, and engagement strategies for specific stakeholders and decision-makers

  • Support the full sales lifecycle, ensuring marketing delivers measurable impact on deal progression and conversion

  • Build compelling value propositions for complex energy infrastructure solutions

  • Track, measure, and demonstrate how marketing activity directly influences revenue and deal outcomes

  • Lead and develop a high-performing marketing function as the business scales

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing leadership role, ideally within energy, infrastructure, or similarly complex B2B environments

  • Deep expertise in account-based marketing, with clear examples of how your work has directly driven sales outcomes

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience supporting high-value, long sales cycles

  • Ability to operate credibly at C-suite level, influencing strategy and decision-making

  • Experience engaging with public sector stakeholders and/or large enterprise clients

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex propositions into compelling narratives

  • Data-driven mindset with a focus on measurable impact and ROI

Why Join?

  • Be part of a landmark infrastructure project with long-term societal and environmental impact

  • Work directly with senior leadership in a highly strategic role

  • Shape the commercial success of a business backed for growth

  • Play a defining role in transforming how cities approach energy

If you are a commercially minded marketing leader who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments—and can demonstrate how marketing can directly win business—we would love to hear from you.
